Nicht Sprechen is the first release from Dying Machines. The album opens with the dramatic "This, And Other Times" and sets the stage for the rest of the EP with its heavily effected guitars and hypnotic orchestral underpinnings. "Await You" is a slowly evolving track that starts with a lone piano and ends in a swirling galaxy of echoes while "Leaf" is a delicate journey of simplicity and wonder that swells into a cinematic climax before quietly flickering out. "As a Day Fades" is a glacial, nearly static moment on the album that seems to breathe with life as strings slowly come and go. The EP draws to a close with "Some Mistakes Are Bigger Than Others" focusing on a minimalist, emotional piano arrangement. As a whole, Nicht Sprechen quickly draws the listener down into the depths of the Dying Machines' sound and keeps them enveloped there until the last sonic wave dies out.
